'It's more than I've ever dreamed of'

MAN CELEBRATES RUNNING DISTANCE FROM NEWCASTLE TO NEW YORK WITH 128 MARATHONS

A NORTH Tyneside man has celebrated completing 128 marathons and running the distance from Newcastle to New York.

Leodhais Macpherson committed to running a daily marathon in memory of his brother Conor until he “reached New York” back on January 25 - a total distance of 3,332 miles. The 24-year-old has documented his challenge on Instagram and TikTok, and has built a huge following in that time.

On Monday night, he finished his final marathon, arriving at Tynemouth Priory to his friends, family and supporters waving flags and cheering him over the line.

In a speech delivered on a stage at Tynemouth Priory, Leodhais thanked all of those who turned up, saying: “It’s honestly more than I have ever dreamed of. In starting this run I think it was me and four others starting from the castle, and every day, I’ve ran 26 miles a day since.”
