Hopes to speed up construction of data centres

Plans for the first two buildings in the QTS data centre proposed in Cambois, Northumberland

QTS, which is the subsidiary of US investment giant Blackstone, is already under way with the development of its £10bn project at the former Blyth Power Station site near the Northumberland village.

Following huge demand for data centre capacity, the firm is hoping to deliver four of the ten planned centres by 2030.

QTS has applied to Northumberland County Council to make changes to planned traffic levels, working patterns and access arrangements to speed up phases one and two of the vast project.
