NATIONAL LEAGUE

DAVID Ferguson has insisted Gateshead have improved since a shaky run of form - and stressed there is still more to come as the season continues.

After a summer of change that brought several high-profile departures and the arrival of manager Alun Armstrong, the Heed endured a spell of inconsistency during the opening six weeks of the season.

There were positives that came with impressive wins against Yeovil Town and Eastleigh - but also several signs there was still work to do with heavy defeats against Rochdale, Woking and Southend United.

However, a run of just one defeat in their last five National League and FA Cup fixtures has hinted an upturn in fortunes is around the corner and Ferguson and his players will hope to give further proof of that when his side face Truro City at the International Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
