GATESHEAD assistant manager Jacob Butterfield bemoaned shortcomings at either end of the pitch following Saturday's defeat at National League title contenders Forest Green Rovers.

Robbie Savage's men took just 12 minutes to find the first goal of the game as Jili Buyabu took advantage of neat approach play from Harry Whitwell and Kyle McAllister to put the hosts in front.

The lead was doubled with the half-hour approaching as Temi Babalola found the net and the advantage had been stretched to three by the time the halftime whistle was blown with an impressive run and finish from Jayden Clarke.
