Family hopes of dream trip for veteran grandad with cancer

THE family of a grandad and army veteran who has terminal bone cancer is raising money for his dream trip to Canada.

David Wilson Inskip, 78, from South Shields, has always wanted to be a cowboy, and grandaughter Katie, 28, is hoping to help give him that opportunity.

Katie, alongside the rest of David's family, is fundraising to get tickets to the Calgary Stampede, a 10-day festival in Canada with marching bands, bull and horse riding, wagon racing, and live country & rock music.

Katie has spoken about everything her grandad has done, and why she feels he deserves this chance.

She said: "My grandad served in the army for 25 years and, from everything I know, he was a loyal and brave serviceman, serving in places like Berlin and The Falkland Islands.
