ARREST AFTER EMERGENCY SERVICES CALLED OUT FOLLOWING 'DISTURBANCE'

A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a “disturbance” in a North Tyneside street.

Emergency services were called to the Charnwood Avenue area of Longbenton on Wednesday evening following reports of a “disturbance” on a street.

A cordon was set up and a heavy police presence attended the scene.

Northumbria Police say a teenager sustained head injuries in a suspected assault and was taken to hospital where he remains.
