Vedanta aluminium demerger set for completion in 9-12 months

Vedanta is actively pursuing the demerger of its core businesses, such as aluminium, into distinct listed entities, with expectations for completion within the next nine to twelve months, as stated by a senior company official.

Vedanta Ltd., owned by billionaire Anil Agarwal, had announced the formation of separate verticals last year through the demerger of its metal, power, aluminium, and oil and gas operations, aiming to unleash inherent valu John Slaven, CEO of aluminium business of Vedanta, said, "We are working very actively in securing the successful demerger of the aluminium business." The process for the demerger is currently underway and is subject to a number of approvals from various authorities, he added.
