TN woking to improve EV charging infra: Industries Minister

According to Minister for Industries T R B Rajaa, Tamil Nadu is actively enhancing its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of EVs in the state.

As part of their efforts to boost EV consumption, the government has amended a policy, allowing battery-operated e-autorickshaws, e-taxis, and e-buses to be issued permits by the transport department without any fees.
Previously, permits were not granted to battery-operated passenger vehicles or vehicles running on methanol or ethanol fuel. However, in 2018, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways exempted battery-operated passenger vehicles and those fueled by methanol or ethanol from obtaining permits.
