Tirumala temple conducts traditional cleaning ahead of annual brahmotsavams

The traditional Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, a sacred temple cleansing ritual, was performed with great religious devotion at the Tirumala temple on Tuesday.

The ritual holds special significance as it was conducted in anticipation of the annual Brahmotsavams, scheduled to take place from October 4 to 12. This purification ceremony is deeply rooted in the temple's traditions and is carried out with the utmost care and reverence.

Speaking to the media outside the temple, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer (EO) J. Syamala Rao explained the importance of the ritual.

"This unique Tirumanjanam was performed in view of the annual Brahmotsavams, which are scheduled from October 4 to 12. Usually, it is observed four times a year before the Telugu New Year (Ugadi), during the Anivara Asthanam, before the annual Brahmotsavams, and before the Vaikuntha Ekadasi festival," Rao said.
