Reduction in windfall profit tax on crude Oil & diesel exports

The government lowered the windfall profit tax on domestically produced crude oil and diesel exports on Thursday in response to the decline in global oil prices.

An official statement states that the Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) levy on domestically produced crude oil has been lowered from Rs 9,800 per tonne to Rs 6,300 per tonne.
SAED on the export of diesel was reduced to Re 1 per litre from Rs 2 per litre.
