The word “machine” is derived from an ancient Greek term that refers to a network of connected parts created to do particular activities, especially those that are difficult for humans to complete. Machines are made with a certain purpose in mind.

Mechanical engineering provides multiple opportunities: IIT Delhi professor

They enable us to control energy and create a variety of motions. Today, machines are capable of performing difficult jobs, such as molding car body parts and monitoring minute movements at the nanometer scale. People have known about weaving machines and wind and water-powered machines for a long time. India’s prosperity benefited from these machines up to about 1400 AD.

Significant improvements in machine development occurred after 1400 AD. The ideas of a philosopher by the name of Rene Descartes have a significant impact on this. He had the view that “everyone is a machine.” He argued that, when looking at the body alone, there is no essential difference between living bodies produced by a divine source and devices created by humans. As a result of this line of thinking, good brains changed their attention from researching celestial motions to developing instruments that enhance human life by overcoming the unpredictability of nature and individual differences in terms of food, clothes, and housing.
