Defence Minister Rajnath D Singh, opinions on India have evolved over the past nine and a half years, and the nation is no longer seen as weak. In light of this week's state assembly elections, Singh made the comment while speaking to a public assembly in the Ratlam region of Madhya Pradesh.

India's perception strengthened in 9.5 years: Rajnath Singh

"Earlier, the perception about India was that it is a weak country, a country of poor but this has changed in the last nine and a half years. Today India is not considered a weak country. Earlier, when India used to speak something on international platforms, people did not listen to it seriously, but today when India speaks on international platforms, the other countries listen carefully," Singh said. India's stature increased in the entire world. Not only this, in terms of economy, earlier India stood at 11th place in the world and today India has taken a jump and stands at fifth place, the union minister added.
