The tender for the redevelopment of New Delhi railway station has been withdrawn for the fourth time. The Railway Land Development Authority
-
Indian Railways, after four unsuccessful attempts to secure a suitable bidder, is considering splitting the Rs 4,700 crore tender for the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) into several smaller tenders. This move aims to prevent project execution delays, according to several officials familiar with the matter. "A proposal to consider breaking the redevelopment of the NDLS project into smaller tenders is being looked at to speed up the bidding so that execution can begin," a senior official told.
He added that the Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA), under the railway ministry, has already floated a fresh tender for the design, construction, and commissioning of a multi-modal transit hub on the Paharganj side of the station, at an investment of Rs 440 crore.
