Indian Army Joins Rescue Efforts in SLBC Tunnel Collapse in Telangana

8 workers still trapped as swift rescue operations are underway

A section of the roof, approximately three metres in length, of the under-construction Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapsed on Saturday morning near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool District, Telangana. According to a statement, six to eight workers are feared trapped inside.

Swift rescue operations are underway, with the Telangana & Andhra Sub Area coordinating efforts. The Engineer Task Force (ETF) of the Bison Division from Secunderabad has been deployed.

Army medical teams and engineers, equipped with high-capacity pumping sets, armoured hoses, excavators, JCBs, and bulldozers are working tirelessly to clear debris and ensure safe evacuation.
