Coming down heavily on Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday accused the party of engaging in "politics of hatred" and desperation to regain power. He claimed that the Congress is sowing seeds of hatred in people's minds every day.

Congress fuels hatred, desperate for power, says PM Modi

PM Modi also referenced Mahatma Gandhi's alleged desire to dismantle the Congress party due to its "vile intentions" soon after India gained independence.

"Congress is doing politics of hatred. Congress, a party that ruled the country for decades, is now desperate to gain back the power. Every day, they sow seeds of hatred into people's minds. Soon after independence, Mahatma Gandhi sensed the vile intentions of Congress, and that's why he wanted to dismantle the party," PM Modi said while addressing an event in Maharashtra virtually.

He called upon the people of Maharashtra to unite and vote for the BJP-Mahayuti government in the upcoming assembly elections to ensure the development of the state and the country.
