CM requests L.G. for Atishi to hoist Independence Day flag; BJP criticises move

Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently in jail, has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena regarding the upcoming Independence Day celebration in Delhi's government schools.
Sources confirm that in his letter, Kejriwal requested that Education Minister Atishi Singh hoist the national flag on his behalf during the flag-hoisting ceremony on August 15, India's 77th Independence Day. However, criticising the move and reacting to this request, the Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva stated, "If Arvind Kejriwal wants Minister Atishi Singh to hoist the national flag, he should trust her and resign, allowing her to take oath as Chief Minister of Delhi."
This development came to light after a recent ruling by the Delhi High Court, which dismissed Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Excise Policy case. The court confirmed that the arrest was based on valid reasons.
