The name "Chauth Ka Barwara" originates from the revered Chauth Mata, the presiding deity of the village. Legend has it that the temple dedicated to Chauth Mata was established more than 565 years ago by Maharaja Bhim Singh of Marwar. According to folklore, the idol of the goddess was brought from Pachala, and a grand temple was constructed on a hilltop overlooking the village. The village soon came to be known by the name of the goddess, symbolizing the inseparable connection between the land and its divine guardian.
 Chauth Ka Barwara is a historically significant village located in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. Known for its deep religious roots, ancient temples, and traditional architecture, the village has carved a special place in the cultural and spiritual landscape of the state. Situated around 25 kilometers from the district headquarters, the village is nestled amidst the Aravalli hills, offering a scenic yet spiritually uplifting environment for residents and visitors alike.

Chauth Mata Temple
The Chauth Mata Temple is the most prominent religious site in the village. Perched atop a steep hill, the temple is accessible by climbing over 700 steps, making the journey both physically demanding and spiritually rewarding. The structure is built in traditional Rajputana style, featuring intricately carved pillars, domes, and a sanctum that houses the idol of Chauth Mata. Pilgrims from across Rajasthan and neighboring states visit the temple, especially during major Hindu festivals such as Karva Chauth and Navratri.
