Chandigarh cyber fraud: 3 More Held, Rs 2.5 Cr Duped from Ex-Architect

The police have arrested three more members of the gang who had defrauded former chief architect Sumit Kaur, a resident of Sector 10A, Chandigarh, of Rs 2.5 crore by posing as a Supreme Court judge and a CBI officer.
So far, a total of 11 accused have been arrested in this case. The arrests have been made under the leadership of Cyber Cell Incharge Inspector Iram Rizvi and under the supervision of DSP Venkatesh. The investigation of the case is ongoing and the police is looking for more people associated with the gang.
In a complaint to the cyber cell, former chief architect Sumit Kaur, resident of Chandigarh Sector 10, said that on May 3, the woman received a phone call. In which the caller introduced himself as an officer of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) and said that her mobile number has been used in illegal activities. Due to which an FIR has been registered against her. The fraudsters connected the woman to an alleged police officer for further investigation.
