Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has successfully achieved a significant milestone by securing financial closure for its $1 billion green high voltage direct current (HVDC) link project. This ambitious initiative is set to make a significant contribution to increasing the supply of renewable energy to Mumbai, a bustling metropolis that requires robust and sustainable power solutions to meet its growing energy demands.

The project involves the construction of an 80-kilometer multi-faceted HVDC link, which is poised to usher in a technological upgrade for the city. The commencement of construction is scheduled for October 2023, marking a decisive step forward in enhancing Mumbai’s energy infrastructure.
One of the core objectives of this project is to bolster the availability of renewable energy in Mumbai’s power grid. The green HVDC link will play a crucial role in injecting an additional 1,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable power into the city’s electricity supply network. This substantial increase in renewable energy capacity is expected to have a positive impact on the city’s energy resilience and sustainability goals.
