PNP steps up presence during 'Undas'

Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., acting chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), ordered all police commanders to intensify patrols and security measures in communities and residential areas to deter burglars and thieves from targeting empty homes and business establishments during All Saints' and All Souls' Days on Nov. 1 and 2 or "Undas.

Nartatez said police commanders were also tasked to coordinate with barangay security officers and security volunteers to ensure a quick response to any suspicious activity.

"I've instructed our personnel to maintain a visible police presence and work closely with local government units and barangay officials to prevent burglary and other crimes while families are away visiting their loved ones," said Nartatez.
