Italian coach asks support as Alas faces Tunisia

Alas Pilipinas braces for its toughest challenge yet as it challenges a taller Tunisian squad in a game that will serve as the highlight in the opening of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in a historic gathering of the strongest, fiercest and deepest teams on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The curtain-raiser is set at 7 p.m. after the 4:30 p.m. opening ceremony headlined by K-pop group BOYNEXTDOOR, officially ushering in the two weeks of high-level volleyball action from 32 of the world’s best teams.

Ranked No. 82 in the world, the Filipino spikers are determined to put all the stops, not only to make an impact in this prestigious tournament, but to also reshape the status of the sport in the country.
