Metro Manila police ready for local campaign period

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) assured that it has already prepared a comprehensive security coverage to ensure the safety of the public during the campaign period for local candidates, which will start on March 28, Friday.

Part of the security measures, according to NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin, is the deployment of more policemen in areas where local candidates are expected to visit and hold their respective campaign programs.

The campaign period for local candidates-from governor and congressman down to mayor and city and municipal councils-runs from March 28 to May 10 and Aberin said part of the security preparations is the identification of areas with high probability of violence and with intense political rivalry.
