Mayon records 389 rockfall events

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that Mayon Volcano logged 389 rockfall events and four volcanic earthquakes in a 24-hour monitoring period from 12 a.m. on Jan. 31 to 12 a.m. on Feb. 1.

The agency said Mayon remains under Alert Level 3, indicating ongoing magmatic unrest.

According to Phivolcs, it recorded 26 pyroclastic density currents at the volcano during the same monitoring period.
