Eala faces American in Aussie Open main draw

Alex Eala is out to make her Australian Open main draw debut worthy to remember.
But to make it very special she must hurdle American Alycia Parks on Sunday, Jan. 18, in Melbourne.
The matchup was confirmed following the release of the draw on Thursday, Jan. 15, which placed the world No. 49 Eala in the upper half of a loaded bracket featuring world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu, wildcard entry and Grand Slam veteran Venus Williams, and third seed Coco Gauff, among others.
