100-Day TB Drive Kicks Off Across Maharashtra

Al-driven screening and door-to-door surveys target high-risk groups

A statewide 100-day campaign to combat tuberculosis has been rolled out across Maharashtra, aiming to boost detection and treatment through large-scale screening and the use of advanced technology.

Launched on March 24 to coincide with World Tuberculosis Day, the initiative will cover all districts, including urban centres. It is part of the Centre’s broader mission to eliminate TB and shifts the focus from passive, symptom-based detection to proactive identification of high-risk individuals.

As part of the campaign, health teams will not limit their efforts to TB alone. Screening will also include conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, anaemia, and malnutrition, given their strong association with increased TB risk.
