Green Week has a big impact

EVENTS AROUND DORKING INSPIRE SWAPPING, SHARING AND SWITCHING

A VARIETY of special events and activities took place in and around Dorking during Great Big Green Week.

Organised by Circular Dorking volunteers, the BIG SWAP, SWITCH, SHARE event on June 7 featured more than 20 local groups and organisations in St Martin’s Walk with businesses in Old Kings Head Court and the town joining in too.

With a focus on recycling, rethinking, reducing, reusing and repairing, there were giveaways, swaps and shares, activities for families and entertainment, plus a Tree of Promises on the Circular Dorking stall was filled with pledges from visitors who shared easy switches they are making to be more sustainable from cycling to school to growing vegetables on allotments or at home.
