A QUARTER of a century after suffering an unimaginable family tragedy, a mum has spoken about the gift of life given by her daughter to others.

Anna was five when she and her dad died following a fire in their home.

Anna's organs were used to help five other people. Her mum Sue, from Godalming, who escaped the blaze with her two younger children, spoke to mark Organ Donation Week, which ran to Sunday.

In December 2000, Sue, now 57, was watching an episode of Holby City with husband Dave, which was focused on a family making a decision about organ donation after the death of their child. The couple talked about the issue and while Dave was clear he would want the donation to go ahead, Sue felt unsure, finding it hard to imagine ever having to make that decision.
