Christmas classic is gven a Mackem twist for charity

A Mackem version of the East 17 Christmas classic Stay Another Day has been shared by Brian Harvey himself.

Shot on the new Keel Crossing, against the changing face of the city, the video features four Sunderland vloggers who sang along to the festive favourite to raise funds for Sunderland Soup Kitchen.

Recreating the original video from 1994, the lads donned four £9 white tops from Primark for their version, which were given a fur trim by the charity's seamstress, Angela Crooks.

The charity project was the brainchild of Sunderland videographer Bill Reay, who often makes Christmas videos, with editing by his son Evan Reay.

Wanting to do something big for Christmas 2025, he approached local vloggers Troy Baker and Connor O'Brien from The Box Outdoors, Daniel Burlinson from Danny Vlogs and Lee Williams, who makes videos as MC Turtle.
