Hindu organisation calls for boycott of Dbn North supermarket

THE Sanatan Shakti, through a widely circulated message, has urged its followers and allies who stand against cultural exploitation to boycott Pick n Pay Hypermarket by the Sea in solidarity with the organisation’s call for accountability and reform.

Sanatan Shakti, a Westville-based organisation that was formed a year ago to promote economic, spiritual and cultural aspects, has accused the supermarket’s Diwali popup market of cultural exploitation and exclusion of Hindu vendors.

Udesh Singh, secretary of Sanatan Shakti, said Hindu vendors were marginalised at the popup market.

“Sanatan Dharma festivals, especially Diwali, are sacred expressions of faith, unity, and community. They are not commercial events for exploitation by those who disregard or misunderstand their deep spiritual meaning.
