IT'S JOLLY ROGERS AS VILLA ACE A BIG HIT

UNAI EMERY and Aston Villa will head to Paris with a spring in their step after getting the better of Nottingham Forest - but they should never have let it get this close.

The 1982 European Cup winners have their biggest game in years on Wednesday when they face the mighty Paris St-Germain at the quarter-final stage of European's elite competition.

And when Morgan Rogers and Donyell Malen both struck inside an impressive opening 15 minutes it looked like being a comfortable warm-up.

But Villa relaxed and Forest pulled one back through Jota Silva to make it an unnecessarily nervy second half.

Still, Villa are now up to sixth in the Premier League after a seventh straight win - and just one point behind Chelsea and level with Manchester City and six behind Forest.
