Woman queues for 27 hours to be first through chicken joint door

A TAKEAWAY food fanatic queued for 27 hours outside a new fried chicken restaurant before its grand opening.

Popeyes opened at the Fort Shopping Park on Friday at 11am - but diner Mia set up camp at 7.30am on Thursday, just to be first through the door of the new branch.

The US chain, known for its Louisiana fried chicken, opened in Birmingham’s New Street in August last year, with campers waiting outside for over 14 hours.

But at The Fort, Mia reached a new record, waiting for 27 hours for food she hadn't before tasted.
