Pensioner's Spitfire tribute takes pride of place in his garden
A MIDLAND pensioner has devoted five years to constructing a replica model of a Spitfire fighter plane, which now takes pride of place in his village garden.
Ray Burden, 75, meticulously crafted the stunning quarter-scale model of the iconic British warplane from scratch as a tribute to the nation's veterans.
The skilled craftsman then showcased it in the front garden of his home in Cubbington, Warwickshire, in celebration of VE Day recently.
