I WAS an 18-year-old when the plane crashed and I lived with the aftermath of that. I was the youngest police officer in the country.

I'd just left Tulliallan eight weeks before. I was supposed to have Christmas off and had come home. I lifted and carried passengers in the recovery operation, working night shift for four weeks until the debris was dealt with.

Over the years, the families and the people in Lockerbie had to navigate our way through all sorts of arts projects, documentaries and so on. So we are a bit guarded because sometimes they can be the work of conspiracy theorists or people with an agenda.

The Lockerbie and Pan AM community have a network, we exchange notes across the Atlantic about what is going on and remain guarded.

Frances Poet assured us that this wasn't going to be "Lockerbie the Musical".
