Campaigners blast decision to rubber-stamp expansion
A MUSICIAN'S plans to extend a quarry's life by 42 years have been approved despite claims that scenic landscape will be "devastated".
Paul McManus, the drummer with Glasgow rock band Gun, says expansion of Cloburn Quarry will safeguard 130 jobs and could bring further employment.
McManus, 58, owned Cloburn Quarry Company when extension plans were lodged last summer. Earlier this year he sold his majority shareholding to William Hamilton Group but remained a director.
