As Trade Minister, nothing has been off my agenda before or since other than trying to get new business for Scotland and the UK. No waiting for the outcome of the talks about tariffs.

And Tartan Week has fallen at a good time to make more progress as we continue the work to secure a deeper economic relationship with the US.

I have been in New York with my colleague. the Scottish Secretary Ian Murray. We are not alone working for Scotland - it has been good to join forces with First Minister John Swinney and Scottish Labour Leader Anas Sarwar as, all the while, I've been keeping in close contact with the leaders of the administrations in Northern Ireland and Wales.
