NICOLA Sturgeon has denied a conspiracy to destroy Alex Salmond and claimed he turned on her after she refused to end a probe into his behaviour.

In an extract from her memoir, which will be published on Thursday, the former first minister accuses her predecessor of failing to show contrition for his “inappropriate” behaviour towards women.
