Idowu wanted back to complete education
ROLAND IDOWU admits he got a football education from Stephen Robinson last season.
So he had no hesitation snubbing a string of offers and returning to St Mirren to continue his studies.
The 23-year-old is just the type of raw talent Robbo revels in recruiting, then refining, in Paisley.
The tricky attacker was loaned out from Shrewsbury for 2024/25.
It was an inconsistent campaign from Idowu but he showed more than enough flashes for Robinson to fancy more.
And a permanent return was perfect for the player who felt he had unfinished business with the Buddies.
Idowu said: "I had a few options a couple of clubs both abroad and here. But what St Mirren offered me, the plan they have in place for me and where I want to go, this fits the best for me definitely.
"How much the manager wanted me gave me a lot of confidence. It just felt like a perfect match.
"I just wanted to get back and get the ball rolling again.
