Mary Berry couldn't cook up wins with ingredients Wilf has

THIERRY HENRY was trying to back up his old pal but might have picked better words.

- MICHAEL GANNON

"Let him cook, judge him at the end of the season," the Arsenal legend said, when asked about his old Montreal No.2 Wilfried Nancy's difficult start to life in Scotland.

Right now, the Frenchman is getting cooked. Never mind frying pans and fires, Nancy is in a deep fat fryer, the temperature is turned up to the max and he's getting battered.

A large section of supporters already want his head served up on a plate. And all of this is after just four games.

The problem Nancy has right now is he can't cook at least not with the current ingredients he has at his disposal.

But the Celtic manager really has to recognise he has to somehow negotiate a path out of these treacherous opening few weeks in the boiling hot seat at Parkhead with the leftovers he was handed.

Nancy might have overestimated the ability of the Celtic squad and underestimated the level of the opposition.

It certainly looks that way after desperate domestic defeats to Hearts, St Mirren and Dundee United.
