GARY ANDERSON says he had a case of the finishing line jitters before booking his spot in today’s European Darts Trophy shoot-out.

The Scot hauled himself from 3-0 down to lash Luke Woodhouse 6-4 and reach the last 16 in Gottingen.

Anderson endured seven missed match darts and said: “I was so far in front and couldn't finish it. That's just down to a bit of nerves.

“There are nerves in every tournament now but we’ll take it.”

Anderson joins Cameron Menzies after he saw off Damon Heta 6-5, having survived two match darts.

Menzies said: ‘I'm trying not to say anything to upset Damo but I stole that”
