Warning as lack of plumbers is leading to soaring call-out costs

SCOTLAND'S plumbing profession has reached “breaking point" with seven in 10 firms struggling to recruit staff.

The shortage has also led to the cost of emergency call-outs soaring and fears of a rise in rogue traders.

The Plumbing and Heating Federation has now demanded the Scottish government intervene to address the workforce crisis.
