Eastern outfit cling on at Ascot

TEAM ASIA held off a late surge from their European foes to lift the Shergar Cup at Ascot.

The Rest Of The World set the early pace when Richard Fahey's Vintage Clarets (5/1) landed the opening Dash under Australian Ace Hugh Bowman.

They also took third with Venture Capital (9/2 Fav) but Asia gained valuable early points as Vespasian (16/1) was second under Ryusei Sakai.

The Asian outfit built on that effort as Dylan Cuhna’s Fireblade (13/2) scorched to victory in the Stayers under jubilant Indian champion Suraj Narredu.
