A NEW DEPTH OF SHAMEFUL

WILFRIED NANCY wants to create a “synergy” between the team and the fans at Celtic Park. Elements within the club's support appear to want sinister instead.

Celtic being forced to call in Police Scotland to investigate acts of intimidation against members of the club's board, as revealed in this newspaper last weekend, is as sad as it is depressing.

The battle for the soul of the club has opened up a new front that is shameful and embarrassing.

Sinister starts with making it your business to find out where various board members live.

I have known Celtic chairman Peter Lawwell for decades - but I have no idea where he lives because that has nothing to do with me.

Intimidation in the form of putting up posters near the school attended by one board member's child is also uncivilised conduct and deserves to be called out as such.

God forbid a day should come when Celtic are consistently unsuccessful if this is how some people behave after 25 years of the club dominating Scottish football.

The seriously misguided, I know, constitute a small minority of Celtic's fan base but they are still a source of worry.
