Jayakody pitches Lanka as regional clean energy investment hub

Sri Lanka is positioning itself as a clean energy investment hub in South Asia, pledging to deliver “profitable, reliable, and quality energy solutions” while driving down emissions and cutting reliance on fossil fuels, Power and Energy Minister Eng. Kumara Jayakody said on Friday.
Speaking at the Energy Management Systems Forum 2025 (EnMS Forum 2025), the Minister said energy sector reform was central to economic revival, industrial competitiveness, and foreign investment inflows.
“We are committed to making energy solutions fair, sustainable, and accessible to all Sri Lankans. Industrial growth is inevitable, but it must be paired with innovation and efficiency to avoid a carbon lock-in,” Jayakody stressed.
