Tories 'would have sorted vital bone clinics by now'

OSTEOPOROSIS sufferers are “paying the price” for Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s foot-dragging on his promise to roll out life-saving services across the NHS, the Conservatives have claimed.

Shadow Health Secretary Ed Argar said if the Tories had won the general election they would be fulfilling their own pledge to deliver “fracture liaison services” across England. The Sunday Express’s Better Bones campaign won commitments from the two parties to end the postcode lottery when it comes to these specialist clinics which identify early signs of the potentially lethal bone condition. The Royal Osteoporosis Society has warned 90,000 people are missing out on vital treatment because only half of NHS trusts have the services in place.

And there was bitter disappointment there was no mention of FLS in the latest NHS planning guidance.
