Son of Brit couple held by Taliban calls for US help

THE SON of an elderly British couple imprisoned in Afghanistan said he has been "interacting" with the US government after a video plea to Donald Trump for help to get his parents released.
Peter Reynolds, 79, and his wife Barbie, 75, were arrested as they travelled to their home in Bamyan province, in central Afghanistan, in February.
Their son Jonathan Reynolds yesterday said that the UK Government has been "very, very supportive" of his family and he was now in contact with US government agencies.
His parents were detained alongside Faye Hall, an American friend who had rented a plane to travel with them, and a translator from the couple's Rebuild training business. Their son, who has dual UK and US citizenship, said Ms Hall was released last week.
