'My proudest achievement was playing for the Queen of England'

The highlight was a spectacular four-song set at that year's Royal Variety Performance, at the London Palladium, in the presence of the Queen and Queen Mother.

"My proudest achievement was me and my brothers playing for the Queen of England," Jackie says earnestly. Adding, "And we did it twice!"
He was referring to their 1977 performance before the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in Glasgow, as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations.
Invited afterwards to formally meet the Queen, Jackie was amazed to learn she was actually a genuine fan of the group.
"She told us she had all of our records, all of our songs, and danced to them!
I couldn't believe that. We all started laughing."
