Audi icon's set to take its final bow
This is probably the last new Audi TT I will ever drive. Hard to believe the model was launched 25 years ago. Back then it had radically different styling - Bauhaus was the popular description.
Based on the VW Golf platform, it was affordable and put a very interesting car into the hands of the masses.
Soon it will get the chop and to celebrate the car's long life, Audi has built the limited Iconic Edition - very limited with only 100 being built for Europe and 11 for the UK.
We are driving one of those, number 39 to be exact. At a cool £87,650 a pop without options, the TT Iconic Edition will be the preserve of hardcore fans of the coupe.
Audi will have no trouble selling all of them, but will the car be a future classic and one day very valuable? Certainly it is a very special car.
