I'll be back ...Cillian up for Peaky film return

CILLIAN Murphy says he would be willing to return as Tommy Shelby if they make a Peaky Blinders movie.

The 47-year-old Oppenheimer star played the ruthless gang leader in the hit BBC drama until it ended in 2022, something he says was a “relief”.

He tells today’s Desert Island Discs when asked about a possible return: “I’ve always said if there is more stories to tell – and if Steve Knight delivers a script I know he can deliver because he’s such a phenomenal writer – then I’ll be there.

“If we want to watch 50-year-old Tommy Shelby, let’s do it.”

But he added that when the show ended after six series “it was a bit of a relief”.

The 47-year-old Irishman added: “I was ready to take a little break. I felt like we’d done such excellent work and I really loved the ambiguity of the ending.
