Gadget provides egg's eye view of nesting visitors

NATURE lovers have been swooping on a former teacher's "smart" bird box that allows them to film their feathered friends Spring-watch-style at home.

Jamie Wainwright's hugely popular boxes have high-quality cameras and Al recognition to identify which species have set up home inside.

They also provide real-time alerts when birds come and go, and the footage is easily live-streamed to social media for others to watch.

Live feeds across a global network of more than 200 of the boxes, set up in America, Canada, South Africa and Japan, can be viewed as well.

Every spring, Jamie - who founded his firm Nest Box Live in 2020 - takes the best footage and posts it online, as well as creating short videos of day-by-day life cycles.
