Rubens Barrichello has heaped praise on McLaren for allowing a “fully open” Formula One title fight between its drivers.

And, with just nine points separating the pair with 10 rounds to go, the Brazilian former Ferrari racer cannot choose between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

“It is a good battle. It is not set and you do not know who is going to win, which makes it more exciting,” said Barrichello, 53.

McLaren have been in a league of their own this season, winning all but three of the 14 Grands Prix held so far.
